- Performing all IT activities and duties in the area of responsibility in accordance with all relevant legal requirements, SOP, guidelines, rules of procedure, by-laws and compliance rules.
- Full responsibility for all services, employees and costs within his / her department
- Reports to Head of Global Automation and Digitalization (Schenker AG)
- Executes legal / formal aspects for disciplinary line wherever possible.
- Functional leadership for the IT colleagues responsible for automation in BUH.
- Takes ownership for roles according to the self-similar structure principle in case the roles are not assigned to employees.
- Ensures continuous digitalization activities for SGBS across both locations.
- Co-operate and partner with the business colleagues to ensure that the digitalization activities (with focus on automation) run without obstacles.
- Ensures proper expectation management with all stake holders (business and IT).
- Ensure that the right processes are in place / create the processes wherever needed to ensure transparency on Automation projects, cost and charging, capacity utilization and ensures that the activities are completed within budget on time with high quality. (Ensure that there is reason which is also shared with the stakeholders in case of a deviation to it).
- Responsible for defining and aligning the department strategy, services, investment decisions, and delivery structures and processes with the strategic directions of the enterprise and IT
- Partners with senior business leaders to develop an integrated IT and business strategy, consults business leaders
- Oversees services provided to internal and external customers, provides high quality services at optimal cost
- Directs the development and implementation of IT initiatives
- Initiates and ensures improvement processes that impacts customer satisfaction, IT efficiency or IT effectiveness
- Anticipating and analyzing trends in technology, assessing the impact of emerging technologies on the business
- Implementation of strategic IT application / infrastructure portfolio and global processes
- Management, development and mentoring of the assigned team leads / employees as well as selection of staff
- Leads the Change within IT organization / department, develops action steps for anticipating & framing the type of change
- Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and IT goals
- At least 10 years’ experience in managing service delivery in an end-to-end environment (preferably shared service center) of which min. 5 years in an operational / process role.
- Leadership experience in managing cross functional teams and influencing senior management and key stakeholders.
- Prior project / process management experience preferrable; logistics background is a plus.
- Minimum Business graduate or any related course, master’s degree / MBA is a plus.
- High proficiency in English language (business level); German or other European languages are a plus.
- MS Office, SAP, Process Mapping software, Workflow tools, Power BI (or similar reporting tools) and statistical tools is a plus.
