JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Pollution Control & Safety Officer 3 is responsible for ensuring a safe and environmentally compliant workplace. This role combines occupational safety management with pollution control, monitoring company operations to reduce hazards, prevent accidents, and minimize environmental impact.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Safety Responsibilities :
1. Monitor and enforce adherence to occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all departments. 3. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
4. Develop and conduct safety training programs, including employee orientation and ongoing refresher sessions.
5. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE). 6. Assist in developing and updating safety manuals, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
Pollution Control Responsibilities :
1. Monitor environmental compliance with local, national, and company regulations. 2. Develop and implement pollution control programs, including waste management and emission reduction measures.
3. Conduct inspections of equipment, processes, and facilities to minimize environmental impact.
4. Investigate environmental incidents, recommend corrective actions, and maintain proper documentation.
5. Prepare environmental compliance reports and submit to management and regulatory authorities as required.
6. Conduct environmental awareness training for employees and support sustainability initiatives.
7. Participate in the selection and procurement of new equipment and machinery as needed.
8. Assist in the daily operation of production lines to ensure operations run smoothly and meet or exceed target efficiency.
9. Exercise administrative control over personnel to ensure strict implementation of company rules and regulations.
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Trainings / Certification :
1. Completion of the mandatory 40‑hour Basic Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH) training course applicable to the industry.
2. Additional 48 hours of advanced / specialized occupational safety training courses relevant to the industry.
3. Accreditation / certification as an OSH Practitioner (or recognized equivalent) under the regulations of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Philippines
