Typical accountabilities
- Field scientific engagement : Build and maintain peer‑to‑peer relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and external experts to exchange scientific information, respond to medical inquiries, and gather actionable insights; mentor junior MSLs on best practices.
- Therapy area knowledge : Act as the regional scientific expert for assigned medicines and disease areas; stay current on clinical practice, guidelines, and emerging data to support evidence‑based discussions and shape local medical strategy.
- Medical education : Plan and deliver scientific presentations, journal clubs, and training for internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, balance, and compliance; elevate educational quality through advanced facilitation and content refinement.
- Insights and evidence support : Capture and communicate field insights to inform medical strategy; support non‑interventional studies, real‑world evidence initiatives, and investigator‑initiated study processes as appropriate; contribute to study concept refinement and site engagement.
- Cross‑functional collaboration : Partner with Medical, Marketing, Regulatory, and Market Access to ensure scientific integrity of materials and alignment of field medical activities with brand objectives; contribute to medical review processes without signatory accountability; act as a senior point of contact for complex queries.
- Compliance and governance : Adhere to applicable codes, policies, and SOPs; proactively identify opportunities to improve medical processes and documentation quality; champion compliant, non‑promotional scientific exchange.
- Reporting and analytics : Produce timely internal reports on engagements, insights, and trends to enhance field effectiveness and support local medical plans; leverage analytics to prioritize activities and demonstrate impact.
Education, qualifications, skills, and experience
