Chief Risk Officer

Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of an established fintech company seeking a seasoned and strategic Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead its risk and compliance functions. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in fintech and a strong understanding of the Philippine financial regulatory landscape. This leadership role is critical in fostering a sound risk culture while supporting business evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the company's risk management framework
• Identify and manage key risks across credit, operational, compliance, and market domains
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including those from the central bank and AML authorities
• Advise senior leadership on all matters related to enterprise risk
• Develop and oversee internal controls and risk policies aligned with business goals
• Build and manage a risk and compliance team
• Monitor emerging risks across digital financial services such as lending, payments, and embedded finan ce

Key Qualifications

• 8+ years in risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Experience in fintech or financial services strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of local regulatory standards, AML / CTF, data privacy, and consumer protection laws
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; certifications such as FRM, CPA, or CRCMP and / or an MBA are a plus
• Background in Philippine fintech or digital banking
• Familiarity with risk technology platforms and data analytics tools
