Director of Business Resilience
This Director of Business Resilience COE – Global ORRM position reports directly to the Head of Governance, Methodologies and Practices . This position is part of the second line of defense independent oversight function and will partner with the first line of defense businesses to ensure that business continuity management framework and controls are integrated with and serve to strengthen its operational resilience approach, and all the standard and regulatory requirements are addressed.
The position requires strong understanding of E-21 Operational Risk & Resilience Management guideline, business continuity management, disaster recovery and other operational risk categories, risks and controls, and solid communication and influencing skills. This position will operate across multiple segment risk teams and their businesses, functions, and geographies, to promote and enhance awareness of risks and controls, and execution of OSFI and BCM requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and support the development, coordination and implementation of existing and new ORRM frameworks, policies and standards.
- Coordinate the intake of activities cross-segments to be reviewed and challenged based on ORM program.
- Establish a consistent template with clear documentation and outcome to support the Segment risk teams to provide their review and input.
- Collaborate with Segment ORRM, IRM, Compliance, Legal, Ops and Tech 1B colleagues. Lead / Host an engaging session to gather feedback, comments and challenges, as well as providing a comprehensive and effective tracking mechanism to manage change.
- Ongoing support for operational risk metrics, engaging with business partners for data collection, reviewing results and challenge the performance / outcome.
- Design and implement dashboard reporting on progress of activities, outcome, gaps and remediations, as well as metrics reporting.
- Create / Develop training materials, collaborate with Program owners, and facilitate training as necessary. Track training attendance and follow up on non-attendance.
- Support the execution of function improvement programs including enhancements to Risk Programs.
- Promote a strong risk culture and oversee relevant risk culture assessment processes.
- The role will also have direct reports to support the centralized activities.
Qualifications :
Broad knowledge of financial services / insurance business and related products.In-depth subject matter expertise in Operational Risk Management (second line of defense, minimum 6-8 years of experience) with strong knowledge of operational processes, identification and assessment of risks and controls.In-depth subject matter expertise in OSFI E-21 and Business Continuity, Disaster Recover and Third Party Risk Management.High proficiency in MS Office Products and data analytics tools such as PowerBI is a PLUS.Strong working knowledge of risk management tools, techniques, and methodologies.Excellent written and oral communication skills, specifically the ability to clearly articulate and write key risks and controls.Highly effective interpersonal skills with an ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate for shared success and to build relationships with key partners and stakeholders.Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically.Self-starter with ability to work independently.Confidence and ability to interact with and present to senior management with a high degree of credibility.What can we offer you?
