Consumer Connection and Insights Manager

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :

  • Keen observer, trend watcher, creative, group facilitator, insight activator, with background in psychology, marketing and / or anthropology.
  • Exposure to research, advertising, and media agencies / third party providers is a must.
  • Must be good with research, data, and numbers.
  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal English, is a must.
  • Candidate must be okay with our current work set-up (4D WOS, 1D WFH)

JOB OBJECTIVE :

  • To provide Marketing and R&D with market, product, consumer data and insights for planning and strategic innovation, renovation issues.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Aids category and brand teams develop and execute an appropriate research program and design against the objectives of their innovation and communication projects.
  • Develops a strategic understanding plan to aid in the selection of the marketing strategy, ie. positioning and segmentation, insighting, etc.
  • Serves as central point of contact and advisor on the research needs of the company.
  • Coordinates with research agencies in developing and designing consumer, product, and communication research.
  • Negotiates with the research agencies on project design and costs.
  • Ensures quality interpretation of research findings and synthesizes it in an executive summary.
  • Aids in the competency development of the marketing team in insight mining and consumer research
  • Runs backyard consumer research (if needed) such as home visits and focus groups.
  • Manages Research Budget
  • As part of MLT, models good governance for the department.
  • As part of MLT, builds systems, process, culture & talent in marketing and co-leads.
  • cross functional improvements if necessary.

    EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND :

    Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, or related discipline. UP, DLSU or ADMU graduate

    preferred. An advantage if with MBA units.

    WORK EXPERIENCE :

    Collectively 5 years’ experience in corporate / market research, ideally from a consumer goods company. A multinational experience combined with a Filipino company is an advantage, however, not required. Experience in related disciplines such as CMI Trade Marketing / Sales are valued, but not required.

    MANDATORY SKILLS :

  • Key involvement in business analysis, marketing plan development, and cross-functional project management
  • Skilled and experienced in Financial Management – able to read and manage brand P&L and suggest optimization.
  • Demand Management – able to create forecasts and marketing assumptions as input to forecasting process.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Creative problem solver, ability to see several alternative solutions to a problem at the same time.
  • Strong project management skills; can orchestrate several “balls” in the air at once.
  • Exceptional follow-through and execution capabilities, solid project-coordinating abilities
  • DESIRED SKILLS :

  • CONSUMER UNDERSTANDING : Getting to the heart of consumer behavior by translating data into stories.
  • CHANNEL UNDERSTANDING & MAXIMIZATION : Understanding nuisances of each data, to mine the best insights and strategy.
  • OUT-OF-THE-BOX THINKING : Demonstrating creativity and ingenuity to keep ahead of the curve and drive business growth into the future.
