Your Role
- Review Quarterly / Monthly reports and working papers, including Cash and Position, Reconciliations, expense accruals, and Dividend / Interest accruals where applicable.
- Review all capital activity pertaining to the funds (Capital Call and Distribution processing).
- Review Limited Partner and General Partner / Shareholder allocations, calculations, and schedules, including Admin / Management fees, Waterfall, and Clawback calculations.
- Review trial balances and related working papers, financial statements, footnotes, and Partner Capital Statements.
- Maintain overall responsibility for client relationships, inquiries, and meetings; interact with Senior Management and clients.
- Review procedures and recommend solutions to improve efficiencies; ensure adherence to internal and external audit standards; coordinate, manage, and monitor external audit processes.
- Liaise with clients and assist them on accounting and administrative issues and relevant developments; provide technical accounting / industry knowledge to clients.
- Review client partnership agreements, PPMs, and other materials; implement fund structures onto the accounting system.
- Prepare client service plans including annual budgets; liaise with property management companies.
- Review the work of team members and provide feedback to guarantee timely delivery and quality of work; monitor and track team performance and profitability to meet SLAs and financial targets.
- Plan resources in line with business demands; participate in recruitment, lead, coach, develop and appraise team members; establish plans for new client setup and transitions.
- Keep Senior Management informed of material issues affecting processing of deliverables; process ad hoc report requests and operations metrics; implement training initiatives.
About You
Bachelor or Master level degree (in accounting, finance, economics)Professional accounting designation required7+ years public / private accounting experience5+ years real estate and / or private equity experienceKnowledge and experience in GAAP and IFRSExperience with fair value reporting for real estate investments and debt obligationsKnowledge of Real Estate & Private Equity Funds AccountingStrong leadership and supervisory experience; strong written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of REIT structures and testingExperience in Performance Reporting – NCREIF and GIPS(AIMR)Project management skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-taskKnowledge and experience in real estate / private equity accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, Investran, etc.) preferredAdvanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel)Our Benefits
