Overview
The Lead Consultant provides strategic, unbiased and objective advisory services, which assist organizations in improving productivity and overall performance.
Responsibilities
Provide input to, and work closely with, Managing Consultant in planning and scheduling work on engagements, including the preparation of estimated time budgets and staffing requirements
Coordinate, participate and document planning and risk assessment meetingsReport to the Managing Consultant or Advisory Partner possible conflicts of interest with the clientDevelop a plan, in coordination with the Managing Consultant or Advisory Partner, which includes understanding the client’s business and industry, and government regulations and requirements affecting the clientEnsure that requests for necessary engagement schedules and documents are sent to the client ahead of the scheduled fieldworkComplete required preliminary procedures in the Audit Methodology / ToolAssist the Managing Consultant or Advisory Partner in tailoring the engagement work program to be embedded in the Audit Methodology / Tool file in accordance with the scope of work agreed with the clientEnsure proper and efficient execution of the plan in accordance with the Firm’s quality standardsEnsure that the Associate Consultants receive adequate supervision and observe proper protocol in dealing with clientsAssign specific responsibilities to the Associate Consultants based on the latter’s experience and capabilities and ensure that they understand their responsibilities and that they are provided with appropriate on-the-job trainingPerform detailed work procedures that cannot be delegated to Associate ConsultantsPerform preliminary review of working papers, reports, and other related deliverables in preparation for the review of the Engagement Managing ConsultantEnsure that the planned work is appropriately completed to satisfy the engagement’s objectives and support the reportEnsure that the Firm's working paper documentation standards have been complied withObtain Managing Consultants’ authorization prior to rendering overtime workEnsure that the team meets internal deadlines with the Managing Consultant and Advisory Partner for quality review before release to clientEnsure that the team meets the client’s set deadlineEnsure accomplishment of travel log and AS-developed Green Flags Checklist as part of the working paper binderPerform the cleaning up and archiving of the Audit Methodology / Tool file and other working papers at the conclusion of every engagement and within the prescribed period of archivingProvide timely feedback of engagement status to Managing ConsultantEnsure that questions or review notes of managers and partners are responded to, documented and cleared before release of final reportAfter resolution with the Managing Consultant, discuss with appropriate client personnel any issues encountered during the engagementEnsure that engagement binders and Audit Methodology / Tool files are submitted to the Managing Consultant together with the report and related deliverablesPerform other duties and responsibilities as may be delegated or assigned by the Managing Consultant or Advisory PartnerRelationship ManagementEstablish and maintain a clear coordination and good working relationship with client personnel, peers, subordinates and other associates within and outside the Firm at all times
Keep the client aware of significant developments in accounting standards, internal control, internal audit, risk management, fraud, IT and other areas that affect their businessesBe available at all times during business hours or while the engagement is ongoing for queries and requests by clients, managers and partnersProvide immediate assistance and / or advice for the professional needs of the clientsProvide timely feedback to staff assistants about their job performance, i.e., their strong and weak points and areas for improvementPeople ManagementProvide timely feedback to staff assistants about their job performance, i.e., their strong and weak points and areas for improvement
Accomplish and discuss Performance Review Reports (PRRs) of staff assistants immediately after every engagementParticipate in an annual performance review process through deliberations on the overall performance of staff assistantsProfessional DevelopmentAttend in-house or relevant outside seminars and trainings either as participant or facilitator for continuous professional development and enhancement of technical skills and competence
Obtain the necessary certifications expected of the position as prescribed in the policyQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering or other related fields (although work experience is more important)CPA or CIAAt least three years of relevant work experience in Business Risk and Consulting Services (Internal Audit, Governance and Risk Management, Operational Improvement, Change and Program Management, IT Management, and Business Intelligence, and Analytics); Transaction Services (M&A Advisory, Capital Markets, Project Financing, Due Diligence, and Valuation); and / or Forensic and Fraud SolutionsStrong quantitative and analytical reasoningJob Details
