The General Manager of Operations is a senior executive role accountable for the effective management and strategic leadership of three critical divisions : Operations, Finance, and Sales, Marketing & Business Development. Reports to the Company President and aligns these divisions to achieve operational excellence.
- Operations – bakery production, supply chain, and plant efficiency
- Finance – budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and fiscal health
- Sales, Marketing & Business Development – driving customer acquisition, brand visibility, and growth initiatives
Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, division oversight, and ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership : Collaborate with the President to define and implement corporate objectives; translate company goals into operational strategies; ensure departmental activities align with business goals.Division Oversight & Team Management : Provide direct leadership to Division Managers (Operations Manager, Finance Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager); set performance expectations and conduct evaluations; promote a collaborative and accountable culture.Operational Efficiency : Oversee daily operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and food safety compliance; drive process improvements across manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics; monitor KPIs and address variances.Financial Management : Oversee budgets and forecasts; review financial reports and support decision-making; ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Sales, Marketing & Business Development : Work with Sales & Marketing Manager to increase market share and engagement; support new product launches and bakery line expansions; identify strategic partnerships and opportunities in B2B and retail channels.Compliance & Safety : Ensure operations comply with health, safety, and food manufacturing regulations; support internal audits and implement corrective actions.Human Resources : Foster accountability, performance, safety; promote training, career development, and employee engagement.Stakeholder Engagement : Represent the company in external meetings; communicate with the board regarding performance and strategy execution.Competencies

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Food Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred).Minimum five (5) years of corporate-level leadership experience, or at least seventeen (17) years in a managerial capacity, preferably in food production or bakery manufacturing.Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and implementing cross-functional initiatives.Strong knowledge of food safety standards, supply chain logistics, and production processes.Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.Company Description
