Associate Director, Regulatory Remediation and Controls

Responsibilities
- Regulatory Remediation Leadership : Lead global coordination and execution of regulatory remediation strategies, ensuring preparedness through mock examinations and tracking of regulatory actions.
- Regulatory Engagement Management : Lead regulatory examinations and audits, ensuring readiness and timely, accurate responses through comprehensive planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Business Continuity & Risk Resilience : Oversee the development of Business Continuity Plans for regulatory functions, ensuring critical processes are identified and continuity strategies are robust.
- Control Design & Optimization : Drive the design and implementation of scalable preventative controls, ensuring accountability and automation of control testing for high-risk areas.
- Regulatory Posture & Controls Oversight : Maintain a proactive regulatory posture by auditing and improving compliance controls to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Remediation & Corrective Action Oversight : Oversee the development and implementation of corrective action plans, ensuring they are sustainable and aligned with root cause analysis.
- Leadership : Provide strategic direction and oversight for a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives through effective issue management, policy influence, and stakeholder engagement.
- People Management : Develop a high-performing compliance team through goal setting, coaching, and fostering a culture of innovation and diversity, while ensuring readiness and capability through structured training.
- Strategic Leadership & Collaboration : Collaborate with business leaders to embed compliance strategies into operations, promoting a culture of compliance through leadership engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting : Build strong relationships with compliance teams and regulators, delivering actionable insights and reports on regulatory trends and compliance risks.
Required Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance, governance, audit, or risk management within financial services (insurance, banking, or related sectors).Deep understanding of the financial services industry and regulatory landscape, with experience in regulatory examinations and remediation programs.Solid background in data analysis, compliance control frameworks, and an understanding of global regulatory frameworks. (e.g., OSFI, BSP, IC, HKMA, MAS, SEC, PBoC, NAIC, etc.).Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and manage complex workflows with strong organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications (e.g., LLB, MBA, CISA, CIA, CAMS, CRCM, CBCP) are highly desirable.Experience in controls documentation, regulatory coordination, stakeholder communication, and corrective action planning.Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel and Power BI, with project management experience.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in negotiation, influence, and relationship management.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach and unwavering ethical standards.Proven ability to work independently and collaborate across all organizational levels.When You Join Our Team
