Job Summary :
The Junior Accountant is responsible for the financial tracking
functions of the company. He / She's overall function is to track
the financial transactions of a company to create accurate
financial reports.
The position holder shall undertake the following functions :
- Monitors the work in progress of all projects and reconciles with billings and
collections.
Monitors, reviews, and analyses collections efficiencies and makes decisions onthose delays, discrepancies and issues noted.
Reviews billings to clients as prepared by AR Staff.Ensures all billings are sent to the clients in a timely manner.Ensures that all revenue billings and corresponding collections are timely,completely, and accurately recorded.
Reviews and analyses Monthly Accounts Receivables Ageing Schedule.Coordinates and collaborates with the Finance Officer for collections deposited inthe Company's bank accounts.
B. Expenses and Disbursements
Identifies, reviews, and monitors all expenses and disbursements transactions of theCompany and ensures timely, complete, and accurate recording.
Monitors and prepares schedule of payables for payments and submits the same tothe Finance Officer for funding.
Reviews expenses and disbursements as recorded by Accounts Payable Staff.Reviews and analyses Monthly Accounts Payables Ageing Schedule.C. General Accounting (GA)
Ensures timely and proper month end / year end closing activities.Prepares monthly Financial Statement Closing Procedures (FSCP) and communicatesto concerned Company employees.
Performs the following monthly GA activities :o Recording of depreciation
o Recording of amortization of prepayments
o Analysis and recording of accruals
o Recording of payroll entries
o Analysis and recording of Sales and COGS accrual
o Accounts analysis and recording of related adjustments, if any.
o Reconciliation and monitoring of Balance Sheet accounts
o Bank Reconciliation
o Preparation of monthly GL schedules
Ensures that all financial business transactions are properly recorded into the properGeneral Ledger accounts and in accordance with Company policies and regulations.
D. OTHERS
Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by yourimmediate head
Attends the following meetings to present and discuss financial and managementreports
Operations Committee (OpCom)Management Committee (ManCom) / Managers' meetingReviews and proposes improvements on the existing accounting policies andprocedures.
Documentation of the monthly Issues, Concerns and Resolutions Report (IIAA) notedrelated to timelines, accountability, and reports / documents.
Discussion of the Issues, concerns, and resolutions report (IIAA) with the concerneddepartments
