We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, reporting, and analysis, with the ability to drive financial strategy and provide executive-level insights to support business growth and decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all aspects of financial operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll management
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and board-level presentations
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy
Strategic Analysis & Planning
Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadershipLead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance metricsDevelop sophisticated financial models and pro forma analyses for business initiatives, product launches, and strategic investmentsConduct profitability analysis by product line, customer segment, and business unitSystems Integration & Process Optimization
Ensure seamless integration of inventory management, e-commerce platforms, and payment systems with the general ledgerLead ERP system optimization and financial system implementationsDrive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalabilityEstablish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial dashboardsCompliance & Risk Management
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory bodiesEnsure compliance with US GAAP, tax regulations, and reporting requirementsOversee internal controls and SOX compliance (if applicable)Identify and mitigate financial risks across the organizationTeam Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering professional growth and developmentCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, marketing, and executive teamsProvide financial training and support to non-finance departmentsRequirements
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA certification strongly preferredMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferredExperience
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experienceAt least 3-5 years in a Controller or senior financial management roleExperience in e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based businesses strongly preferredPublic accounting experience with Big 4 or mid-tier firms is a plusTechnical Skills
Advanced expertise in Excel, Google Sheets, and financial modelingProficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP, etc.)Experience with e-commerce platforms and inventory management systemsStrong understanding of business intelligence and reporting toolsCore Competencies
Deep understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting principlesComprehensive knowledge of US tax system, regulations, and reporting deadlinesProven track record of successful month-end and year-end close processesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detailExperience in process improvement and change managementExcellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reportingWork Requirements
