Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department in the preparation, processing, and monitoring of vouchers and checks, while ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. This role helps maintain accurate and timely financial records in line with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process vouchers for supplier payments, reimbursements, and other company expenses.
Prepare checks for payment, ensuring proper documentation, accuracy, and required approvals before release.
Maintain organized records of vouchers, invoices, and check payments for easy reference and audit purposes.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of supporting documents before processing transactions.
Monitor payment schedules and due dates to ensure timely preparation and release of checks.
Assist in government compliance, including preparation and filing of BIR forms, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions, and other statutory requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers, staff, and other departments regarding payment concerns.
Assist in bank-related transactions such as check deposits, withdrawals, and monitoring of cleared checks.
Encode and update accounting records in the system or ledgers.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by providing necessary documents and reports.
Perform other accounting-related tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Preferably with experience in voucher preparation, check handling, and government compliance.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory contributions.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word); experience with accounting software is an advantage.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
