AS / 400 Developer - Cebu City

Staff Outsourcing Solutions / Ecomia is seeking experienced and detail-oriented AS / 400 Developers to support one of our long-time clients who is a leader in the powersports distribution industry. The AS / 400 Developer will play a critical role in developing, enhancing and maintaining business-critical applications running on the IBM i (AS / 400) platform.

This position is ideal for professionals who has worked with or enjoy working with legacy systems in a senior or junior capacity while also contributing to system modernization efforts. Familiarity with Infor A+ ERP is highly desirable, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS / 400) platform.
• Support and enhance legacy systems using RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPGLE, CL, DDS and related IBM i technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks and system errors in a timely manner.
• Participate in software upgrades, code migrations, and system maintenance tasks within the IBM i environment.
• Maintain and develop interfaces with external systems, APIs and newer platforms where necessary.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, process workflows and user guides.
• Work closely with the team managing Infor A+ ERP to support data flows and business logic.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for system optimization and modernization while ensuring continuity of core business operations.
• Follow best practices in source control, change management and code quality.
