Project Controls Manager (On-site)

JOB SUMMARY Delivers the implementation and delivery of a range of PMO and Project Controls services to designated projects within the PMO and Planning.

THE ROLE The Project Controls Manager heads up and supports the Client and Mace on-site PMO team (Planner, Cost Controller, Quantity Surveyor, and Document Controller) on the Pump Storage Project (PSP) build.

Interfaces across the project’s Project Delivery Team to assure quality of data and process adherence.

A technical professional with solid Project Controls management experience.

Has a general understanding of all aspects of Project Controls management and promotes value for money.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of Project Controls Management.

Reports functionally to the Project Controls Lead at PICI Head Office.

Adheres to established Project Controls management processes.

Manages and monitors budgets, costs, planning / scheduling, change management / reporting, and provides oversight, guidance, direction, and escalation as needed.

Manages budgets and baselines to meet project objectives.

Supports the project control knowledge transfer program, including comprehensive on-the-job training for the client.

Ensures the project team provides inputs to weekly reports and monthly dashboards.

Reviews, validates, and consolidates project monthly dashboards and reports, raising any issues or concerns.

Issues project dashboards and reports to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

THE INDIVIDUAL Demonstrates interface management and core competencies at a managerial level, serving as an exemplary model of the company’s Values and Code of Ethics.

Provides ownership, responsibility, and direction over the project’s integrated teams; delivers timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and optimum use of team skills.

Monitors work assignments for adherence to timelines and compliance with processes; develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps.

Provides leadership in the area of Project Controls dedicated to the project.

Has working knowledge of current methodologies and tools related to managing projects.

Effectively and sensitively responds to client and stakeholder requests.

Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and is able to validate and check data, reports, and records; provides basic commentary and analysis.

Manages the schedule baselines and ensures that project control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance.

Delivers intelligence and updates related to change management.

Works closely with the client, sub-consultants, and main contractors.

Reviews overall project status with the project management team and recommends corrective actions when necessary.

Ensures that risk management and reporting processes are established and that compiled data is provided on a weekly and monthly basis.
