Virtual Rockstar is hiring a Medical Biller on behalf of a pediatric therapy clinic that provides occupational, speech, and developmental therapy services.
The Medical Biller will be responsible for overseeing the full billing cycle — from claim submission to payment posting and collections. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, deep knowledge of medical billing processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with payers and internal staff.
The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, and resourceful, with a strong understanding of how accurate billing supports both clinic operations and patient care.

Responsibilities
Billing & Claim Management
Submit claims accurately and timely to payers for therapy services.
Apply correct modifiers, CPT codes, and billing units in accordance with payer rules.
Monitor claim adjudication and follow up on pending or rejected claims.
Review denials and appeal / fight claim denials as needed to ensure prompt resolution.
Reconcile remittances (EOBs / ERAs) and post payments accurately.
Track and report billing activity, outstanding balances, and claim status.
Collections & Accounts Receivable
Work aging reports regularly to identify unpaid or underpaid claims.
Contact payers to resolve discrepancies and ensure claims are reprocessed when appropriate.
Follow up on outstanding balances and coordinate collection efforts.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of payer communication and account actions.
Collaboration & Reporting
Communicate regularly with the admin and billing teams regarding claims, denials, and payment trends.
Support clinic leadership with reports on billing performance and A / R status.
Ensure compliance with all HIPAA and clinic privacy regulations.
Requirements
2+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in outpatient or therapy-based settings.
Proficiency with claim submission, modifiers, claim adjudication, appeals, and aging reports.
Experience working with EMR systems (clinic uses Practice Pro).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel).
High level of accuracy, organization, and accountability.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Requirements
Previous experience in a medical administrative role (medical assistant, medical receptionist, or similar) is preferred. Familiarity with WebPT EMR and Therabill for patient payment posting is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. High level of professionalism and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Comfortable with remote work and proficient in using virtual communication tools. Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorizations is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute to a positive patient experience.
