Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Accountant with a minimum of 10 years’ hands-on experience in preparing and lodging personal, business, and SMSF tax returns within the Australian taxation framework. This role requires deep technical expertise, precision, and a proactive approach to client service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Preparation & Lodgement
- Prepare and lodge individual, business (sole trader, partnership, company), and SMSF tax returns in accordance with ATO requirements
- Review financial statements and ensure accurate tax treatment of income, expenses, and deductions
- Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic advice to clients
- Compliance & Advisory
- Stay up to date with changes in Australian tax legislation and ensure full compliance
- Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients regarding assessments, audits, and queries
- Provide expert guidance on GST, CGT, FBT, and other relevant tax matters
- Client Engagement
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding tax obligations and outcomes
- Build long-term relationships through trust, accuracy, and timely delivery
- Handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Australian tax accountingProven expertise in preparing and lodging personal, business, and SMSF tax returnsStrong working knowledge of ATO systems and compliance requirementsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reportingHigh-level written and verbal communication skillsCPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)Familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools (e.g., Xero, MYOB, etc.)Experience in public practice or boutique accounting firms (preferred)Ability to mentor junior accountants and contribute to team developmentClient-first mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
