MAIN PURPOSE OF THE
JOB
To strategically direct and oversee the provisioning of ICT, Business
Information Systems as well as organizational planning for Strategy
and Organizational Performance Management and Reporting
functions to enable systematic monitoring and evaluation of various
business units.
KEY PERFORMANCE
AREAS
❖ Participate in the development and implementation of Seda
strategy and resourcing of strategic objectives in a sustainable
manner.
❖ Oversee the provision of Information and Communication
❖ Oversee the provision of Business Information Systems services
which includes Knowledge Management.
❖ Oversee the provision of Strategy and Organisational Performance
management services.
❖ Assure the embedding of risk, compliance and audit practices all
the Divisions processes and systems.
❖ Manage the Divisions resources (people, finance and assets).
REQUIRED MINIMUM
EDUCATION
❖ Matric (NQF Level 4) and Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7),
Honours Degree (NQF level 8) in Information
Management / Systems or Business Administration plus a Master’s
Degree (NQF Level 9).
REQUIRED WORK
EXPERIENCE
❖ 10+ years of hands-on experience in a combination of Planning,
Strategic Management, ICT and Information
Management / Systems environment of which 5 years’ experience
in Senior Management role.
❖ Knowledge and experience in strategy formulation, monitoring
and evaluation systems, organisational performance, and
reporting.
❖ Understanding of the public sector compliance environment.
❖ Direct management of a major ICT operation.
❖ Practical application of a project management approach such as
PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
❖ Understanding of ICT governance frameworks and quality
standards e.g. COBIT and ITIL.
❖ Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
❖ Understanding of Public Service governance framework.
