A Junior Accountant provides essential support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role is ideal for individuals starting their career in finance and accounting, offering hands-on experience with financial reporting, bookkeeping, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Record journal entries and update ledgers
- Prepare financial reports and assist in audits
- Handle accounts payable / receivable and reconciliations
- Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations
- Prepare and file government remittances (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG)
- Monitor deadlines for statutory filings
- Support senior accountants with monthly / year-end closings
- Use accounting software and spreadsheets to manage data
- Perform other ad hoc tasks given by the Senior Accountant
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldFresh graduates are welcome; 0-2 years accounting experience preferred.Preferably a CPA but not requiredStrong understanding of accounting principles and Philippine tax regulations.Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (XERO, QuickBooks or similar)Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAnalytical mindset and good with numbersProfessional integrity and discretion with confidential information
