Job Description for Mid-Level Accountant - Small Business Focus

Responsibilities :

• Prepare financial accounts for small to medium businesses using Xero accounting software
• Process and file GST returns on a bi-monthly cycle
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
• Review and categorize business transactions with appropriate coding
• Work from previous year report folders to maintain consistency
• Handle accounts for construction-based businesses including electricians, builders, and plumbers
• Process routine accounting tasks to increase overall team capacity
• Communicate queries via email and escalate urgent matters appropriately

Requirements
