Job Description for Mid-Level Accountant - Small Business Focus
Responsibilities :
- Prepare financial accounts for small to medium businesses using Xero accounting software
- Process and file GST returns on a bi-monthly cycle
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Review and categorize business transactions with appropriate coding
- Work from previous year report folders to maintain consistency
- Handle accounts for construction-based businesses including electricians, builders, and plumbers
- Process routine accounting tasks to increase overall team capacity
- Communicate queries via email and escalate urgent matters appropriately
Requirements :
Mid-level accounting experience with strong foundational knowledgeProficiency in Xero accounting softwareExperience with GST / VAT return preparation and filingUnderstanding of small business accounting principles and practicesStrong common sense and critical thinking abilitiesAbility to learn and retain client-specific processes and local business nuancesExperience working with construction or trade-based businesses preferredCapability to work independently in a remote environmentScope :

Requirements
