FINANCIALPLANNING AND ANALYSIS
Assesses and develops models to evaluate risk and return of various business scenarios and effectively communicates findings to senior management
Analyzes financial consequences of investment transactions and makes decisions in accordance with the authorized limit. In excess of the authorized limit, the recommendation of the Corporate Finance Head is required before decisions are made by a higher level.
Oversees and develops forecasts and budgets to project future capital spend and / or profitability.
Implements end-to-end budgeting process. Continuously updates Budgeting Systems and processes to adjust to the changing needs to the business.
Leads the budgeting process and works closely with product and functional heads to review and challenge budget submissions.
Manages and guides the product and functional heads in the performance of their Budget versus Actual.
Manages the preparation of financial models; Ensures the validity and reasonableness of assumptions, as well as the appropriateness of model architecture
Ensures performance of analyses and identification of explanations to key variances between budget and actuals at the corporate / consolidated level. Identifies items that warrant further examination.
Identifies efficiency improvements and cost reduction measures and ensures implementation by working with product and functional heads
Revises forecasts periodically, taking into account new events, new inputs from products and functions, and changes in accounting policies.
Determines whether requests for big-ticket expenditures are within the approved budget. Evaluates the requests and disapproves of requests that are beyond the budget or provides recommendations for approval by a higher authority if the request is assessed to be a necessary business requirement. Works with the Financial Operations group and Finance Business Partners to review and approve cash disbursements, coordinate the booking of certain items to ensure consistency with the budget, and discuss accounting policies.
Monitors cash flows and forecasts equity calls or loan drawdowns.
Manages the preparation of the Senior Leadership Deck and provides value-adding analyses for managing the products and functions. Supervises and mentors the team on understanding business process flows, required financial information, and exhibits.
Provides leadership to the team in resolving difficult businessdecisions. Performs other tasks as may be assigned.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Continuously improves financial analysis and forecasting processes and ensures that the use of systems is maximized.
Identifies opportunities for cost savings and additional revenues and collaborates with product and function heads and finance business partners to implement initiatives or institute business process improvements.
Provides advice to the senior leadership team, internal departments, consultants, and shareholders on the feasibility of strategic projects through both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Works with the Strategy Team to initiate the strategic planning process and provides parameters to other products and functions.
Reviews and provides a financial and stakeholder perspective on strategic initiatives of products and functions.
Works with finance business partners on the review and negotiation of finance provisions on major contracts.
Reviews business case for capex and big-ticket investments and presents to the AC Logistics ExCom and AC Investment Committee.
TREASURY
Continuously assess and improve the cash flow strategy and ensure the health of working capital.
Works with the Collection Team, Operations, and Commercial to continuously improve DSO.
Works with the Procurement Team to continuously improve DPO.
Ensures that relationships with banks are established and maintained.
Negotiates with Lenders and leads the execution of the drawdown process. Coordinates with internal parties and ensures completeness of the documentation required for each drawdown. Negotiates with banks for possible exceptions / flexibility on specific requirements.
Establishes and maintains good relationships with Lenders. Ensures documents and all other requirements for the loan and drawdowns are met; responds to queries and provides requested information to lenders.
Monitors covenants, representations, and warranties under the loan agreement. Monitors interest, commitment fees, and other fees.
Monitors organization’s big-picture cash flows to optimize loan drawdowns and capital calls.
Evaluates alternative financing for specific projects and makes recommendations as appropriate.
Reviews Weekly Cash Position Report and ensures adequate funding.
Ensures efficient utilization of funds; Continuously assess and improve the cash flow strategy and ensure the health of working capital.
ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT
Leads the implementation of initiatives under the group’s enterprise risk management program; understands and mitigates key elements of the Company's risk profile
Develop and maintain an effective framework for managing the Company’s risks and to promote its implementation at the senior leadership level to ensure that sound risk management practice is accepted as an integral part of the Company’s business planning, budget setting, and performance management processes, and is part of every manager’s role.
Ensure that the Company’s risk management and insurance strategies support the group’s policies, aims, and objectives.
Leads the development and monitoring of reliable control systems
Reports risk issues to the Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee of the Board of Directors
Maintains relations with external and internal auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations; ensure that value-added recommendations are implemented
Optimize the Company’s risk financing strategy to ensure that the Company maintains the most appropriate balance between internal and external risk financing (including insurance) within the constraints of prevailing market conditions.
Ensure that the Company has adequate external insurance protection for its business needs, identifying new areas of business risk as they arise and ensuring appropriate risk transfer mechanisms are in place. Ensure that self-insured risks are adequately catered for within the Company’s provisions and reserves, if any.
Ensures that the identification and management of business risk is embedded into the Company’s cultures and practices, to contribute to the Company’s performance management framework, and to support continuous improvement in service delivery.
Achieve Best Value in the procurement of the risk management and insurance products and services.
Be knowledgeable in best risk management practice through contact with other risk management professionals and membership of external bodies and keeping up to date with trends and developments in technology, products and services, and to applying that knowledge in the management of the Company’s risk and claims management processes.
Undertake duties in relation to Health and Safety within the Finance Function, as required.
SHAREHOLDER RELATIONS
Manages shareholder relations by being the primary point of contact for shareholder representatives.
Assesses shareholder information requirements, prioritizes, and aligns with other business requirements.
Works with Shareholders to explore different financial scenarios for investment decisions and analyzes their effect on revenue, costs, EBIT, EBITDA, net income, and capital calls.
Under the direction of the CFO, leads the preparation activities for Board Meetings, Audit and Risk Committee meetings, and Investment Committee meetings, including preparation of materials.
Provide business cases and latest projections as requested. Justify capital calls and prepare documentation.
Responds to shareholder queries on a timely basis.
