JOB DESCRIPTION
Position : Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Reporting to : President and CEO
Direct Reports : Finance and Accounting – Jr. Assistant Director, Sr. Manager
Job Summary :
The CFO manages the financial planning and analysis function, as well as the financial reporting of the Company. This position will also play a key role in the management of financial reporting, forecasting, and planning.
The CFO has strong informal leadership skills, being able to challenge and steer in strategic financial decisions toward CEOs and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide overall leadership to the finance team and ensure that financial reporting is delivered in line with company policies, standards and applicable rules and regulations.
- Align financial planning and strategy with business planning and company strategy, including multi-year budgets, trends analysis, and scenarios modeling.
- Analyze and evaluate financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Manage the assets and liabilities with the objective of minimizing the financial risks and exposure.
- Ensures Assets and Liability Committee (ALCO) related reports for the Group every month.
- Oversee and manage the annual budgeting process, regular forecasting, and other analysis as required.
- Perform lead role in managing and supervising the preparation of the management accounts and financial statements of the company in line with IFRS.
- Manage the external audit program to ensure that the financial statements align with IFRS and regulatory standards of the country.
Job Qualifications :
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in AccountancyMust be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Senior management work experience in finance or accountingProficiency in financial reporting, analysis, and trend monitoring. A qualified Chartered Accountant having CPA / FCA / FCCA qualificationsHaving in-depth knowledge of IFRS standardsExperience in major international accounting or management consulting firm or multinational firmBanking or microfinance experience would be an advantage.Sound knowledge of finance and accounting principles, external audit, international tax law and best practices.Senior leadership in strategic financial managementSolid knowledge on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecastingTreasury and currency exchange management experience would be an advantageBoard reporting and programme management experienceExcellent interpersonal, communication, and management skillsStrong leadership and change management skillsStrong organizational and ethical acumenHigh proficiency level in verbal and written English#J-18808-Ljbffr
