Video Editor - Virtual Assistant

Job Description

This is a remote position.

Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Video Editor for our partner in the health & wellness content space. In this fully remote role, you’ll own long-form YouTube edits and a steady cadence of shorts, bringing strong aesthetic judgment, intentional sound design, and motion graphics to elevate brand presence across channels.

Responsibilities :

YouTube & Short-Form Editing

Edit weekly long-form YouTube videos to an elevated, modern style

Produce a daily volume of short-form cuts from provided source (platform-native framing, pacing, captions)

Apply intentional sound design and tasteful motion graphics to reinforce hooks and key beats

Creative Direction & B-Roll

Propose purposeful B-roll plans; minimize generic stock when possible

Suggest client capture ideas (e.g., “day-in-the-life” moments) to improve authenticity and storytelling

Collaborate on thumbnails / SEO inputs and packaging (hooks, titles, descriptions)

Publishing Readiness & Collaboration

Deliver exports sized for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

Maintain organized project files, versions, and assets for handoff and future iteration

Communicate proactively in Slack and track tasks in Monday.com (or successor PM tool); uphold agreed timelines and output goals

Tools & Platforms :

Editing : Editor’s choice (team currently uses tools such as CapCut, Opus; flexibility welcomed)

Project Management : Monday.com (may change)

Communication : Slack, Zoom

Email & Files : Gmail, Google Workspace

Social : YouTube, Instagram (primary); TikTok, Facebook (secondary)

Requirements

2+ years of professional video editing for YouTube and short-form platforms

Demonstrated strength in sound design, motion graphics, pacing, and visual storytelling

Comfort advising on thumbnails / SEO inputs and content packaging

Meticulous file / org discipline; reliable, proactive time management

Fluent spoken and written English; collaborative communicator

Comfortable working U.S. business hours

Requirements

Experience as an Executive Assistant, Virtual Assistant, or similar role. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Zoom. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. A genuine interest in the dental industry is a plus.
