JOB DESCRIPTION : Accounting Assistant
Purpose : The position is for a professional in charge of maintaining budgets and records. They alsoprepare invoices on behalf of clients or employers. Those in this role will be helping with day-to-day tasks related directly to their field, which means that precision is essential. They also support by performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports and budgets, fielding communications with clients and vendors, fact-checking, filing, and other duties, as
needed.
Job Expectation and Qualifications :
- Work experience as an Accounting Assistant
- Familiarity with finance regulations in Australia
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and Xero accounting software

Basic data entry tasks for accounting assistants include logging transactions, recording and reviewing journal entries, creating invoices, and crafting spreadsheets.Bookkeeping, tax return preparation, bank reconciliations, etc.Preparing quarterly reports, assisting year-end audits and bank reconciliations.Communicate with vendors and customers about invoices and payments. This could be by email or phone.Create and update financial reports. They work on balance sheets, statements of income, statements of retained earnings, and cash flow statements.Reconciling invoices and identifying discrepanciesCreating and updating expense reportsHelp with processing payroll and employee expenses.Processing reimbursement formsManaging Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableRequirements
Familiarity with Australian building codes and regulationsProven record of tendering commercial projects up to $10M.Proficient skills in Bluebeam and Intellibid or similar tools; Client confirmed they can provide training on Intellibid.Tender experience in retail, fit-out, refurbishment, live environment, hospitality, aged care, education, and small new-build projects.Skilled in job estimating in a construction environment.Good understanding of various construction methods and knowledge of building, material components, building regulations, estimating (including take-offs), and WHS&E.Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities.Highly numerate with a well-developed ability to accurately manipulate numerical information.Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team.Time management, accurate record-keeping, and attention to detail.Ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills.Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and instructions as agreed with the Managing Director
