Job Description
The Barista is a key member of the café team, responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be passionate about coffee, customer-focused, and committed to maintaining a clean, welcoming, and efficient workspace. This role also includes supporting food preparation and service, as well as upholding exceptional hygiene and customer service standards always.
Key Responsibilities :
- Beverage Preparation :
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and other specialty beverages according to company recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all drinks.
- Customer Service :
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions about the menu, and make product recommendations.
- Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments responsibly and issue receipts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Food Service Support :
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of light meals, pastries, and snacks.
- Ensure food is stored, handled, and displayed according to safety regulations and brand standards.
- Cleanliness and Organization :
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including the counter, equipment, and seating areas.
- Follow daily cleaning checklists and contribute to overall store cleanliness.
- Ensure proper sanitation practices are followed in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Team Collaboration :
- Work cooperatively with fellow team members to ensure smooth operations during shifts.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed of new products, procedures, and policies.
- Support team members by assisting with restocking, inventory, and opening / closing duties as needed.
