The BIM Modeller – Fire Services will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant fire protection BIM
models using Autodesk Revit and related software. This role requires strong knowledge of Revit families, system
integration, and collaboration with Fire Engineers and Project Managers from tender design through to construction
delivery.
This is a remote role; the candidate will engage in national projects and collaborate with engineers, consultants, and
contractors through digital platforms. The role requires a balance of technical Revit skills and practical knowledge
of fire engineering design, construction delivery, and compliance with Australian Standards (AS2118, AS2419,
AS1670, AS1851, NCC / BCA, etc.)
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the kind of person who :
1. BIM Modelling & Documentation
- Develop, manage, and coordinate BIM models for fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, detection systems, etc.).
- Create and manage Revit families for fire protection components.
- Ensure models are fully coordinated with architectural, structural, and services disciplines.
2. Tender-to-Delivery Lifecycle Support
Assist engineers with tender documentation and BIM deliverables.Support project teams in translating tender models into construction-ready drawings.Incorporate site feedback into as-built documentation.3. Compliance & Standards
Ensure BIM outputs comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC, BCA, ISO 9001 QA processes, and client-specific requirements.Maintain QA documentation for BIM deliverables.4. Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with Fire Engineers, Project Managers, and Consultants.Participate in design coordination meetings and contribute to problem-solving.Provide technical input on Revit workflows and process improvements.Requirements
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who :
Essential
Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (families, systems, coordination).Minimum [X years] experience in BIM modelling for building services, preferably fire protection.Familiarity with fire system layouts and coordination within multi-disciplinary projects.Understanding of tender processes, project lifecycles, and site delivery constraints.Strong attention to detail and QA processes.Desirable
Knowledge of Australian fire protection standards and codes.Experience working with remote teams across multiple projects.Prior exposure to clash detection (Navisworks or similar).Understanding of procurement registers, asset tagging, and construction sequencing.Benefits

We’re looking for someone who : 3–10 years of experience in civil drafting projects Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Familiarity with TfNSW and local council design standards is desirable. Experience preparing construction-ready drawing sets and working in multidisciplinary teams Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently or collaboratively A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and adapt to project needs Diploma or Certificate-level qualification in civil drafting or engineering (or equivalent)
