Remote Technical Writer – Construction & Architecture (Part-Time)

Overview

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida, and technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa. Planate provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide to the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal agencies.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in construction and architectural projects to support our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have prior NAVFAC experience and will be responsible for reviewing design documents and Performance Work Statement (PWS) packages to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality before submission to the U.S. Government.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and refine design specifications and PWS packages for construction and architectural projects
• Ensure all specifications comply with NAVFAC standards, federal regulations, and project requirements
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify technical details
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or compliance issues and provide actionable recommendations
• Maintain accuracy, clarity, and completeness in all written specifications
