Lead System Engineer opportunity focused on infrastructure and hosting operations within a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support Leadership : Provide leadership and direction for operational support teams, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Service level management : Establish and monitor SLAs for operational support activities and continuously improve support processes.
• Monitoring and observability : Implement and optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to enable proactive issue detection and resolution.
• Team leadership : Lead and mentor the infrastructure team to ensure successful execution of projects and initiatives.
• Incident Management : Establish incident management processes, define severity levels, escalation paths, and communication protocols for incidents impacting cloud services.
• Major Incident Response : Develop and maintain major incident response plans, conduct tabletop exercises, and lead post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
• Monitoring and Observability (ongoing) : Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as New Relic to track health, performance, and availability.
• Performance Optimization : Monitor cloud infrastructure performance metrics and implement tuning to improve efficiency and resource utilization; collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance in the cloud.
• Trend Analysis and Reporting : Conduct trend analysis on system performance and incidents; develop dashboards and reports to inform data-driven decisions.
• Documentation : Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure configurations and procedures; provide training and knowledge sharing on AWS technologies and best practices.
• Team Management and Development : Develop and execute training programs; foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
