What is this role about?
The role establishes, reviews, and collaborates with department heads to ensure proper implementation of internal control systems within the company (including subsidiaries and affiliates). He / She also conducts independent, objective quality assurance, and consulting activities designed to add value and improve operations.
Additionally, the role provides value in improving controls, risk management, and governance processes.
What will YOU do?
- Develop a risk-based audit plan and audit program to ensure the adequacy of the company’s internal controls and the achievement of management plans and organizational objectives, which can be conducted during assurance or consultancy audit engagements.
- Implement an audit process to evaluate the company’s compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures, which can be done during assurance or consultancy audit engagements.
- Review and evaluate practices, and collaborate with process owners in developing policies and procedures to standardize processes and prevent, detect, and correct regulatory standards violations, if any, which can be done during assurance or consultancy audit engagements.
- Enforce internal controls to avoid potential liability to clients and / or stakeholders, which can be done during assurance or consultancy audit engagements.
- Assess the completeness of documentation requirements by checking whether transactions are properly documented as required in the policies, which can be done during assurance or consultancy audit engagements.
- Prepare discussion points for audit reports to be presented by Internal Audit Head to the Audit Committee and Top Management, highlighting significant / critical findings or observations.
- Provide audit reports, findings, and recommendations to ensure that findings are addressed by the process owners to prevent recurrence or exposure to risks, communicated directly to Process Owners, Managers, and Department Heads.
- Oversee and manage the activities of the audit team to ensure that audit activities are in accordance with the approved audit plan and completed within timelines. Any deviations or adjustments should be brought to the attention of the IA Head for approval.
- Ensure risks, controls, and risk assessments are logged in the Risk Register, with periodic updates, serving as a basis for managing audit activities and improvements in controls or risk management.
- Check if position limits in lending and borrowing activities are complied with, ensuring operations are within set limits or appropriate approvals are secured if beyond limits.
- Perform other functions as assigned from time to time.
What will YOU need?
BS in Accountancy (CPA) is a must.Exposure in external / internal audit from a financial institution is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
