The Global Manufacturing and Beauty Operations team delivers manufacturing technology and solutions for the mass production of Dyson’s innovative product technology through partnership with our design, quality and commercial organisations, as well as with our suppliers and contract manufacturers. Our operations team continuously drives reductions in our supply costs, and improvements in our quality and delivery performance ensuring our products are delivered on time to our customers with the highest standards.

About the role

The Senior Operations Project Manager’s sole focus is delivering the collaborative effort of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain cross-team to efficiently introduce a new Dyson project. They are the orchestrator of many specialists spanning the manufacturing and supply chain organisation.

From detailed design development to mass production, they coordinate the activities of others in the interest of the Project, many of whom may be globally distributed, to deliver a successful product launch.

They work in tandem with a Design Manager, with the former being focused on what the Product ‘Is’ and the OPM being responsible for ‘how’ it is manufactured and realized to market.

About You

Tenacity, Organisation, Motivation, Responsibility and Influence are the key attributes of an OPM. The successful candidate will have demonstratable experience of each from whichever background they come from.

Evidence of excellent communication skills is essential, both upward to management and across the organisation.

A passion for personal excellence and high-performance teamwork underpins the OPM. An internal drive to deliver on time, cost and to spec will be the key motivator.

A generalist with broad based experience is a good fit.

While it is not required to have worked in this role before, broad experience and understanding of a manufacturing environment is essential to have credibility collaborating with colleagues. At times, it will be required to be a present leader in a factory environment and take a hands-on approach to problem solving, efficiency and quality control.

A highly analytical mindset and an ability to spot potential problems before they occur will be key to success.
