Overview
We are seeking a BIAN Architect to design and lead the implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks based on Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) standards. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of banking domain processes, enterprise integration, and architecture governance, with a strong ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions.
This role plays a critical part in defining the target architecture for core banking modernization and ensuring alignment with both business and technology strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks aligned with BIAN standards.
Define and document target architecture for core banking, lending, payments, and customer experience domains.
Conduct architecture assessments, identify gaps, and propose roadmaps for modernization and digital transformation.
Collaborate with business leaders, solution teams, and technology partners to align architecture with strategic goals.
Establish guidelines for API-led integration, microservices architecture, and service reuse across banking systems.
Provide governance and quality assurance for solution design and technical delivery.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on BIAN reference models and banking process architecture.
Mentor teams on architecture best practices and support capability building within the organization.
Qualifications
At least 12 years of IT experience, with 5+ years in architecture roles within banking, financial services, or shared services environments.
Hands-on experience in BIAN-based architecture or strong working knowledge of the BIAN service landscape.
Deep understanding of core banking, cards, loans, deposits, and payments systems.
Expertise in integration and API architecture, including tools like MuleSoft, Apigee, WSO2, or TIBCO.
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern architectural frameworks such as TOGAF.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
BIAN certification or strong practical experience with BIAN models
TOGAF or cloud architecture certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience in core banking transformation or digital platform modernization initiatives
