Job Summary :
The Office Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the execution and documentation of construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing project-related documents such as plans, billings, progress reports, technical submittals, and schedules. The Office Engineer ensures that all paperwork and project coordination activities are compliant with the project requirements, local construction standards, and applicable government regulations (e.g., DPWH, National Building Code, etc.).
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and updating of project schedules, work programs, and progress monitoring tools (e.g., S-curves, Gantt charts).
- Prepare and submit Request for Information (RFI), Material Submittals, Shop Drawings, Method Statements, and Work Accomplishment Reports.
- Coordinate with field engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely submission and approval of documents.
- Manage and file all technical documentation including plans, specifications, permits, and inspection reports.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Prepare progress billings, variation orders, change orders, and other contractual documents for client and / or subcontractor processing.
- Support the QA / QC team by providing documentation related to inspections and test results.
- Monitor the procurement and delivery of materials in coordination with the procurement / purchasing team.
- Track and document project milestones, accomplishments, delays, and issues for reporting and evaluation.
- Ensure that all project documents are submitted, stored, and updated in accordance with the project’s document control system.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related course.Preferably a Licensed Civil Engineer.At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in construction project documentation or project engineering.Familiarity with DPWH documentation requirements, project billing procedures, and contract administration (especially for government-funded projects).Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple documentation tasks simultaneously.Preferred Certifications :
Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certificate from a DOLE-accredited provider (preferred for project site engineers).Training in Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or Contract Administration is an advantage.
