DENTAL RECEPTIONIST

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly organized and personable Dental Receptionist to join our growing dental practice. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, handling appointment scheduling, patient communication, and administrative support all remotely. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in dental or medical front-office operations.

Key Responsibilities :

Answer inbound calls, texts, and emails from patients in a timely and professional manner

Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using dental practice software

Verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments

Collect and update patient records, including contact details and medical history

Handle billing inquiries and explain treatment plans or insurance-related questions

Send appointment reminders and follow-ups via phone, email, or SMS

Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction

Qualifications :

Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar administrative role (medical office, front desk, customer service)

Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) is a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable with remote tools such as VoIP systems, shared calendars, and cloud-based EMR platforms

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a remote setting

Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance processes is preferred

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in healthcare administration is a plus
