Overview

The overarching objective of the Operations Manager, Cloud Services is to take full accountability of the operational performance of AIA’s Group shared Public Cloud services. The role will ensure strategic partners deliver the services aligned to Group strategy and expectations. The role will fulfill new demand to deliver business objectives on demand, including components of the propel strategy. It will ensure that all BU demands are considered when operating the shared Public Cloud Platform and build a fully integrated support model with BU’s and Group. This role will establish a world-class service engagement model within Group, GTO and BU’s.

Responsibilities

• Operate Public Cloud services in a world-class manner, driving high levels of service performance and management.
• Lead and manage AIA Group Public Cloud Centre-of-Excellence (CoE), including line management of staff to provide services to BUs and Group, and governance of Cloud Management vendors / partners.
• Manage the Public Cloud Platform at a group level and provide full cloud integration in a multi-cloud / multi-vendor environment.
• Deliver new demand for Group, GTO and BU capabilities on time in full.
• Ensure compliance of Public Cloud technologies to audit standards and work with Group Technology Risk to meet security requirements and standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve, align and create synergies with business strategic partners and group technology.
• Collaborate with Service Management to build and mature a world-class reporting capability at the group office level.
• Manage cloud operations team rostering to ensure adequate coverage of service hours including after-hours on-call.
• Accountability for resource augmentation partners; timesheet validation, collaboration with IT Finance for payment, and contract negotiations / renewals as appropriate.
• Act as point of escalation during incidents and other operational activities.
• Lead a team with 10+ years of relevant experience in Cloud / Platform Management, including at least 3 years in a senior role such as Cloud Architecture.
• Demonstrate excellent understanding of Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and management in a multi-site enterprise environment.
• Practical experience in managing Enterprise Public Cloud Services.
• Life insurance experience within a regional or multinational scope is an advantage.
• Experience in a decentralized organization, preferably within a group unit where delivery is through influence rather than direct control.
• Sound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices.
