Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations

Role Overview

The AVP for IT Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for leading enterprise-wide IT infrastructure strategy and operations. This role ensures high availability, security, and scalability of IT systems while driving digital innovation and operational excellence. The position oversees IT operations, vendor management, disaster recovery, and technology modernization to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Define and implement the IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with business objectives.

Oversee IT governance, compliance, and risk management (DPA, audit readiness, data security).

Drive innovation through cloud adoption, automation, and emerging technologies.

Infrastructure & Operations Management

Ensure 24 / 7 availability, performance, and resilience of IT systems across business units.

Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning / testing.

Establish ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.

Vendor & Budget Management

Manage IT vendors and service providers, ensuring SLA compliance and performance.

Oversee IT infrastructure budgets, cost optimization, and resource allocation.

People Leadership

Lead and develop a high-performing IT operations team.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Mentor future IT leaders and ensure succession readiness.

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with business leaders to ensure IT solutions meet operational needs.

Provide regular updates to executive management on IT performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Master’s Degree or MBA is an advantage.

Experience :

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure and operations leadership.

Strong background in ITIL, data center management, cloud infrastructure, and IT governance.

Proven track record in vendor management and enterprise IT projects.

Certifications (Preferred) :

ITIL, COBIT, PMP, CISM, or cloud-related certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
