Purchasing Supervisor

Job description

1. Focuses on the cost reduction / localization activities.

2. Procurement technical goods and services including Process & Machine Engineering requirements.

3. Request & negotiates competitive quotations from external providers, with respect to pricing and payment terms to support smooth cash flow plan.

4. Evaluates proposals, quotes and bods and chooses / recommends appropriate external providers to perform the task.

5. Visit external provider facilities to conduct inspections, audits and ensure that required standards are met.

6. Collaborate with other departments for the evaluation and qualification of samples / suppliers.

7. Evaluates new and existing external providers; subcontractors and negotiates purchase agreements.

8. Seek out alternative supplies that could still provide the company’s requirements with lesser costs that will help increase the company’s profitability.

9. Review purchase requisitions for veracity and completeness of information, proper authorization and conformance to established procedure.

10. Prepare purchase orders and coordinates requests to valid and accredited external providers ensuring purchase price variation and on-time delivery.

11. Supports the company’s cost saving program by continuously seeking out better quality and economical external providers.

Qualifications :

Must be engineering graduate.

Can read technical drawing.

Preferably has at least 2 years of working experience in the field of Purchasing specializing in Manufacturing / Production operations or equivalent.
