We are seeking a dedicated Lien Negotiator to join our team. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for someone sharp, detail-oriented, and comfortable with numbers to join us in the role of Lien Negotiator.
- Review and update Excel spreadsheets with embedded formulas to reflect provider reductions and client distribution estimates.
- Analyze medical bills and settlement amounts to ensure the client receives the expected share (typically one-third after fees and costs).
- Work backwards from client expectations to determine acceptable reduction targets per provider.
- Use negotiation tactics to lower lien amounts while staying within acceptable thresholds for providers.
- Maintain detailed notes about provider types, visit counts, and historical payment standards (e.g., $100 / visit for chiropractic, $500 per MRI).
- Communicate with medical providers to negotiate lien amounts and reach favorable agreements.
- Balance the goal of maximizing client settlements with maintaining good provider relationships.
- Collaborate with supervisors during training, with the goal of handling lien negotiations independently.
- Use internal systems (CRM, KSpear) and Excel tools efficiently during the process.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Lien Negotiator or in a similar role.Strong understanding of medical billing, liens, and related legal concepts.Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and legal documents.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information.Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal management software.Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.Benefits
