Legal Counsel

The Legal Counsel is responsible for providing strategic legal advice and risk management solutions that align with the company’s goals. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, supports business operations by managing contracts, handling litigation, processing government permits and applications, and fostering a culture of ethical conduct within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to management and business units on various corporate matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential legal and compliance issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Maintain proper documentation and records to ensure legal obligations are met.
• Oversee and facilitate processing permits, licenses, and other applications with government agencies.
• Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities to address compliance requirements or resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and assist in preparing board and shareholder meetings.
• Advise on company policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings or coordinate with external counsel for litigation management.
• Handle pre-litigation strategies and negotiate settlements, when appropriate.
• Develop and deliver training programs to employees on legal and compliance topics, such as contracts, ethics, or anti-corruption policies.
• Monitor and disseminate updates on relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide legal input for corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, or financing.
• Support strategic projects, including international expansions, partnerships, or joint ventures.
