Job descriptionEngagement Type : This is a full time independent contractor engagement, not an employment relationship. Compensation : The professional fee range of AUD 1,800 to 2,200 per month is an all inclusive rate for the contractors services. Schedule : While this engagement generally follows a 5 to 6 day workweek, the contractor must remain flexible and available during core cleaning hours, including weekends, as required by operations. Current schedules may include : 5 days a week (Thursday to Monday), 8 hours per day (6 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM PH time) Experience Requirement : Candidates should have substantial experience in cleaning operations, housekeeping leadership, or facilities management. The client is seeking a contractor who can confidently contribute from day one, with limited onboarding support. Initial Discussion with VargasAndrews (30 to 45 mins) : Explore your background, goals, and motivation. Technical Live Assessment with Client (60 to 90 mins) : Practical scenarios testing data management, Excel, and problem solving. Behavioral Interview with Client (60 mins) : Focus on communication, organization, and collaboration. Pre Engagement Steps (10 to 15 mins) : IT Audit, Reference Check, and Founder Call to align expectations. Operations Leadership Oversee rostering of cleaners, ensuring operational coverage while minimizing overlap. Provide virtual coaching and performance reviews for cleaning contractors. Quality Control Review photos, videos, and reports from on site teams to assess compliance with standards. Investigate guest complaints related to cleanliness and issue corrective action plans. Process and Vendor Management Evaluate cleaning supply vendors, considering cost, sustainability, and quality. Research and propose digital and AI tools to streamline audits and communication. Documentation and Reporting Prepare and submit scheduled reports with insights and improvement initiatives. 3 to 5 years experience in cleaning operations, housekeeping leadership, or facilities management (hospitality or property management background preferred). Familiarity with Australian cleaning standards and hygiene requirements desirable. Proven experience in remote team management and offshore coordination. Proficiency in digital tools (Trello, Asana, Google Sheets, Microsoft 365, AI systems). Strong communication and conflict resolution skills for virtual coaching. Analytical mindset for interpreting operational data and recommending improvements. Highly organized, detail oriented, and adaptable in fast paced environments. 98 percent audit completion rate on submitted cleaning reports. Weekly defect logs maintained and corrective actions documented. 2 remote coaching sessions delivered per month, with 90 percent positive feedback. Incident resolution within 48 hours of guest complaint or issue. 1 documented process improvement initiative per quarter. 100 percent on time submission of weekly or monthly reports. SOPs updated within 10 days of changes. Vendor review reports submitted every 6 months. 95 percent attendance in scheduled Facilities Management meetings.

Position Summary
The Cleaning Operations Officer plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and efficiency of cleaning operations across our property portfolio.
Operating remotely from the Philippines as part of the Facilities Management Department, the Officer partners with on site cleaners, vendors, and supervisors to maintain Smart Suites reputation for exceptional guest experiences. This role blends people leadership, process management, and technology driven operations.
Scope of Services
The Cleaning Operations Officers engagement will include :
Conduct interviews and support recruitment of cleaners.
Develop and update cleaning SOPs, checklists, and audit templates.
Monitor performance data (cleaning times, defects, guest feedback) and recommend improvements.
Maintain organized digital records of audits, incident logs, and reports.
