Overview
The Corporate lawyer provides legal support and guidance to the company to ensure compliance with Philippine laws and regulations. The role covers drafting and reviewing contracts, providing legal opinions, ensuring corporate governance, and handling regulatory requirements to protect the organization's interests.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard company interests.
- Provide legal advice and opinion to management and business units on labor laws, corporate matters, intellectual property, data privacy, and other areas affecting company operations.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the company.
- Handle corporate housekeeping, including SEC, BIR, DOLE, and other government filings and requirements.
- Assist in developing company policies and procedures to minimize legal risks.
- Represent the company in dealings with external legal counsel, regulators, and government agencies.
- Support HR in employee relations, labor issues, and dispute resolution.
- Conduct legal research on issues affecting the business.
- Prepare and submit legal reports and updates to management.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD); must be a member of the Philippine Bar.At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in corporate law, labor law, or litigation (in-house or law firm experience preferred).Strong knowledge of Philippine laws and regulations (corporate, labor, tax, data privacy, etc.).Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.With corporate lawyer experienceJob competencies / requirements
