What are we looking for?
Skills Required :
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related field (postgraduate level preferred)
- ITIL certification (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years in software testing, including test design, execution, and defect management
- At least 2 years in a team leadership or people management role, ideally within a retail IT environment
- Strong background in cross-functional project delivery and Agile / Scrum methodologies
Technical & Professional Skills :
Proficient in test management and automation tools : Tricentis, QTest, JenkinsFamiliarity with services architecture, development standards, and software development lifecyclesKnowledge of analytics and monitoring platforms : Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Sumo Logic, Dynatrace, DatadogProficient in Microsoft Office, JIRA, ConfluenceExperience in SAP ERP and related systems (e.g., STIBO PIM, Relex, Adobe Campaign, NetTickIT)Nice to Have :
Retail industry experience or exposure to retail software ecosystemsHands-on experience with automation frameworks and scriptingFamiliarity with Officeworks-specific platforms (e.g., Zitcha, Broadsign, Scalene)Working knowledge of various analytics, tagging, and marketing automation platformsExperience with disaster recovery planning and executionWhat will you do?
1. Quality Assurance Leadership
Lead and manage a team of test analysts responsible for ensuring software quality and an optimal customer experience.Drive team performance, development planning, and resource allocation for ongoing projects and special initiatives.Act as the gatekeeper of product quality, ensuring all deliverables meet business requirements and success criteria before production deployment.2. Test Strategy & Execution
Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts.Ensure full end-to-end coverage including manual and automated testing where applicable.Build test cases that support manual execution and automation frameworks.Oversee UAT processes, coordinating sign-offs with business stakeholders.Conduct production verification testing and continuously improve processes for efficiency and risk reduction.3. Defect Management & Reporting
Identify, log, and track defects through to resolution.Distinguish between scope issues, development bugs, and UX problems.Maintain clear documentation to support defect resolution, regression prevention, and future optimization.Generate clear, actionable test reports for developers, designers, and analysts.4. Process Improvement & Automation
Continually optimize the development and testing pipeline through automation and tooling.Use testing insights to proactively improve development standards and customer-facing functionalities.Leverage domain knowledge and tools to detect and prevent defects early.5. Stakeholder Communication
Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.Influence release decisions based on quality metrics and risk assessments.Collaborate closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to align on testing standards and execution.6. Governance, Compliance, & Safety
