Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing, validating, and processing billing activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely invoicing across client accounts. This role plays a critical part in supporting revenue assurance and ensuring smooth financial operations between global teams.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Management : Prepare, review, and issue client invoices in accordance with contractual terms, SLAs, and compliance requirements.

Billing Validation : Verify billing data against project records, timesheets, and system reports to ensure accuracy.

Dispute Resolution : Work with cross-functional teams (Finance, Delivery, Account Managers) to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.

System Operations : Maintain accurate billing data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, ProTracker).

Compliance & Audit Support : Ensure billing practices meet internal policy, local tax laws, and audit requirements.

Reporting : Generate regular and ad-hoc billing reports, dashboards, and billing status updates for leadership.

Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in billing workflows; recommend and support automation or enhancements.

Cross-Team Collaboration : Liaise between GCC Finance and Head Office Finance to ensure alignment and seamless billing execution.

Required Skills & Competencies

In-depth understanding of billing operations, accounts receivable, and general financial processes.

Hands-on experience with ERP and billing systems (SAP, ProTracker).

High attention to detail; able to manage and analyze large datasets accurately.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with global stakeholders.

Problem-solving mindset to handle billing errors and client disputes effectively.

Ability to prioritize under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Experience with Australian billing practices is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

4 6 years of relevant experience in billing, accounts receivable, or financial operations.

Familiarity with Australian tax and compliance standards is advantageous.

Certifications like CPA, CMA, or CA Inter are preferred but not required.
