As a Senior Payroll and HR Project Specialist, your primary mission will be to streamline and enhance our payroll processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency at every step. This role addresses critical operational challenges by acting as a Subject Matter Expert in time and payroll management, particularly concerning local taxation and legislation. What you´ll do
- Execute HR and Payroll processes effectively using standardized templates to meet service commitments and SLAs
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Time and Payroll including Japan’s taxations, legislative and statutory pay impacting topics during project implementations
- Collaborate with global implementation teams, vendors, and local HR to ensure comprehensive capture of solution requirements and process definitions
- High involvement in the project roll-out from initiation phase until implementation that includes gathering of business requirements, process documentation, and testing
- Support the payroll team in managing end-to-end payroll processes, including system execution, data maintenance, reconciliation and validation, and compliance with government reporting
What makes you a good fit
Bachelor's Degree in any fieldMinimum of three (3) years working experience in Japan payroll process – with deep understanding of local employment laws, payroll legislations, statutory requirements, and audit standardsMust have proven track record in end-to-end project implementation – including planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and post-go-live stabilization within HR or Payroll System TransformationsBackground in creating process documentation and updating desktop procedure and job aids is needed; Experience in user acceptance testing (UAT), parallel testing, and implementing project go-live is an advantageKnowledge in Dayforce, Workcloud and Workday is highly preferred; SAP is an advantage; Intermediate knowledge in Excel is requiredProficiency in Japanese Language (JLPT N1-N3) is highly preferred to facilitate effective communication and coordination with local stakeholders and vendorsExcellent command of the English language, with keenness to details, time management, and collaboration skillsAmenable to work on regular shift schedule (8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM), and report on a hybrid work set-up in Ayala Avenue, MakatiSome perks of joining Henkel
