Medical Biller and Coder

Job Description

This is a remote position.

Schedule :   Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM, 1-hour unpaid break | New Jersey (Eastern Time)

Paid hours per week : 40 Hours

Responsibilities :

• Perform medical billing and coding for pediatric patients using   ICD-10   and CPT coding systems
• Handle billing processes for a large pediatric practice treating patients from birth to age 26
• Work full-time during standard business hours with a dedicated focus on billing operations
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while working remotely
• Participate in team meetings and regularly communicate with supervisors
• Work on camera via Zoom during all working hours for accountability and team collaboration
• Help with collections by calling patients
• Help with posting insurance payments
• Call insurance companies regarding denials & coordination of benefits

Requirements

Experience with medical billing and coding in the United States healthcare system

Proficiency with   ICD-10   and CPT coding systems

Primary care experience required (pediatrics, family medicine, or internal medicine)

Pediatric coding experience strongly preferred

Commitment to long-term employment (multiple years, not short-term contracts)

Comfortable working on camera via Zoom during all work hours

HIPAA compliance knowledge and willingness to complete HIPAA training

Reliable high-speed internet connection with backup internet available

Professional home office setup in a quiet environment

Scope :

Remote work using the client’s dedicated computers via GoToMyPC

Activity monitored through productivity tracking software (Controlio)

Must maintain a professional appearance and environment during Zoom sessions and throughout the shift

Subject to background checks and HIPAA compliance requirements

Required to remain on camera during Zoom sessions, with their manager or productivity manager monitoring activity to ensure they are working effectively
