Data and Business Analyst (DAX)

Zigzag is looking for a Data and Business Analyst to join our team!    Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data and Business Analyst with a proven expertise in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to join our growing team.

This role is crucial for bridging the gap between business needs and data solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful and actionable insights, developing robust data models, and creating interactive, high-impact reports and dashboards, primarily using Microsoft Power BI .

Key Responsibilities Data Modeling and DAX Development : Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data models in Power BI.

Write and optimize complex DAX formulas for calculated columns, measures, and tables to support advanced analytical requirements and ensure data accuracy.

Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting : Develop, test, and deploy interactive and user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and insights to various stakeholders.

Data Analysis : Conduct deep-dive data analysis to identify root causes of business challenges, uncover opportunities for improvement, and forecast future trends.

Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts across departments (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations) to understand their data and reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.

Data Quality Assurance : Implement processes to monitor and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data used in reports and analysis.

Documentation and Training : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, reports, and DAX logic.

Provide training and support to end-users on how to interpret and utilize the BI tools.

Required Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.

Experience :  At least 3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or Business Analyst role.

DAX Expertise : Must have expert-level proficiency in writing and optimizing complex DAX code.

Proven ability to leverage advanced DAX concepts (e.g., context transition, iterative functions, time intelligence) for sophisticated analytical solutions.

Power BI Mastery : Extensive experience with the entire Microsoft Power BI suite, including Power Query (M Language), data modeling, visualization, and deployment via Power BI Service.

Analytical Thinking : Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a non-technical audience.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points) Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).

Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
