Wishpond Technologies currently has the position of Business Development Director available, and we’re excited to tell you about it!

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Business Development Director, a visionary leader with a sharp strategic mind and the drive to transform data, people, and processes into growth, to join our team on a full‑time basis. This is a fully remote position, and the successful individual could be based anywhere in the world. You will work with an amazing remote team servicing and building relationships with clients primarily based in the U.S. and Canada, in collaboration with the Sales team and all departments.

The Business Development Director is a strategic and data‑driven leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the performance of the Business Development, Lead Generation and Email Deliverability teams. This role blends strategic vision with hands‑on management to drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and cross‑functional alignment. The Director transforms insights into actionable strategies, empowers teams to exceed targets, and ensures consistent execution across all growth initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to define and execute growth strategies aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Oversee the Business Development, Lead Generation and Email Deliverability teams, ensuring performance optimization and alignment with revenue goals.
  • Design and implement scalable business development initiatives that drive qualified pipeline growth and market expansion.
  • Lead the analysis of sales and deliverability metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to streamline lead generation, nurture, and conversion processes.
  • Develop data-driven strategies that enhance outreach effectiveness, improve deliverability rates, and maximize ROI.
  • Champion a high‑performance culture by setting clear goals, providing coaching, and fostering professional growth.
  • Build, mentor, and empower teams through continuous feedback, performance reviews, and leadership development programs.
  • Ensure operational excellence through efficient workflows, effective tool usage, and adherence to best practices in communication and follow‑up.
  • Monitor and report on business development KPIs, including pipeline growth, conversion rates, and deliverability performance.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen client relationships, enhance engagement, and support long‑term retention.
  • Cultivate cross‑departmental collaboration to align strategies, messaging, and execution toward shared revenue goals.
  • Continuously optimize systems and processes to support scalability, automation, and sustainable team growth.
  • Perform other leadership duties as required to ensure business development success, operational efficiency, and organizational growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a leadership role managing SDRs, business development, or a sales‑focused team.
  • Proven experience in Business Development, Sales Leadership, or Revenue Operations, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven success leading and scaling high‑performing Business Development and / or Email Deliverability teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong recruitment, training, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to motivate, coach, and guide team members.
  • Practical understanding of sales tools such as CRM platforms, lead tracking systems, and reporting software.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • Must be detail‑oriented, creative and have a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to establish and maintain solid relationships through a client‑first mentality.
  • As part of a diverse team, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
  • Must be technical and analytical and have the ability to manage complex projects seamlessly.
  • Organized, administratively strong, great time management, and have solid writing, phone, and general communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset.
  • Willing to participate in ongoing education and training for the role.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This is a 100% remote position, and the individual could be based anywhere in the world.
  • The individual must be prepared to work standard business hours based on either PST or EST.
  • Due to the nature of this role, we may verify backgrounds, including conducting employment references, criminal records, and credit checks.
  • Once hired, the successful candidate must provide a valid government‑issued photo ID, proof of SIN and proof of residential address as part of their onboarding process.
