BPO - US Tax Specialist (Hybrid Setup)

Overview : We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced  Payroll Specialist  with strong knowledge of payroll processing and  multi-state tax administration .

The ideal candidate will have expertise in payroll tax filings, compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities : Process payroll accurately and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Manage and ensure compliance with : Form 941 Federal Withholding and Social Security / Medicare (Employee Withholding) Form 940 Federal Unemployment (Employer Expense) State Withholding (Employee Withholding) SUTA State Unemployment (Employer Expense, with some states including Employee Withholding) Local Taxes including but not limited to OH, PA, KY, MI, GA, and other states requiring local tax processing.

Utilize and navigate payroll systems, including  Gazelle, SMART, IQ  (training will be provided), as well as support tools like Slack and Zendesk.

Conduct research and resolve payroll tax issues in a timely manner.

Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and workflows.

Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Accounting or  5+ years of experience in multi-state payroll tax preparation and administration .

Proficiency in payroll systems and related software; tech-savvy and adaptable to new applications.

Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional client service orientation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet deadlines.
