The Chief Operating Officer (CEO) – Fish Brokerage serves as the chief executive leader of a major seafood trading and distribution organization in the Philippines. This position is responsible for directing the company’s strategic growth, operational excellence, and financial performance within the national fisheries and cold-chain sector.
The role oversees the entire fish brokerage and seafood trading process — from procurement and auction coordination to logistics, distribution, and client servicing — ensuring compliance with BFAR, DA, and LGU regulations. The CEO provides visionary leadership that strengthens the organization’s position as a trusted and competitive player in the Philippine seafood value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Formulate and implement long-term strategies to enhance market presence and profitability.
- Analyze domestic and export seafood market trends to guide pricing and sourcing decisions.
- Represent the company in industry councils, trade associations, and government consultations.
Operations Oversight
Supervise end-to-end fish brokerage operations, including procurement, auction, and cold-chain logistics.Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards set by BFAR and DA.Streamline systems for fish classification, weighing, pricing, and settlement accuracy.Financial & Business Management
Manage the organization’s P&L, controlling costs while maximizing profitability.Oversee credit, collections, and remittances for vendors and buyers.Implement transparent reporting and financial risk-management measures.People & Culture Leadership
Lead managers, brokers, logistics teams, and support staff.Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.Ensure compliance with workplace safety and operational policies.Partnership & Stakeholder Relations
Build and maintain relationships with fishing vessel owners, retailers, exporters, and port operators.Negotiate pricing agreements and sourcing partnerships.Resolve escalated concerns to maintain high service quality.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Fisheries, Maritime Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience in fish trading, brokerage, seafood logistics, or port operations.Proven expertise in multi-stakeholder management and regulatory compliance (BFAR, LGU, DA).Strong background in strategic planning, financial oversight, and business development.Excellent leadership, negotiation, and crisis-management skills.Highly adaptable and decisive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.What We Offer
