Head of Lending - Digital Bank

Job Description

1. Strategic Ownership & Business Leadership

Develop and execute the Bank's lending strategy in line with its digital-first vision.

Define and drive the product road map across all lending verticals (e.g., term loans, revolving credit, salary-linked lending).

Own portfolio composition, product-market fit, and channel-level performance metrics.

Deliver strong commercial outcomes, including monthly disbursement targets, contribution margins, yield, and ROE.

Oversee the full lending funnel strategy, from limit creation and offer design to booking and disbursement conversion.

2. Innovation & Digital Enablement

Spearhead digital transformation initiatives in lending, including CRM signal integration, embedded finance solutions, and journey optimization.

Lead the adoption of digital onboarding, real-time underwriting, and AI / ML-driven decisioning.

Partner with Technology and Data teams to ensure scalable, automated lending systems and processes.

3. Portfolio Management

Monitor and optimize loan portfolio performance, focusing on growth, yield, delinquency, and profitability.

Collaborate closely with Risk, Finance, and Collections to refine scorecards, risk triggers, early warning systems, and remediation strategies.

Ensure BSP-aligned governance, provisioning practices, and robust portfolio health monitoring at both product and segment levels.

4. Organizational Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, cross-functional lending team.

Set and drive KPIs and OKRs for product and channel owners to ensure accountability.

Oversee hiring, talent development, and team structure to support business goals.

5. Internal Governance & Stakeholder Influence

Present portfolio performance insights to senior management, board committees, and regulatory bodies.

Foster strong alignment with internal teams including Marketing, Collections, Technology, and Strategy.

Play a key role in governance forums and investment planning decisions.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA is a plus
• 10+ years of experience in retail or SME lending, with a least 3 years in a digital or fin tech environment
• Strong knowledge of credit risk management, digital product development, and regulatory compliance
• Proven track record in launching and scaling loan products
• Deep understanding of digital lending technologies, scorecards, and data analytics
