The Payroll Tax & Reconciliation Speciali st is responsible for performing detailed bank reconciliations for payroll-related accounts, and managing the registration and maintenance of tax accounts with various federal, state, and local agencies. This role requires an understanding of payroll systems and financial reconciliation processes to support compliance and internal financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Bank Reconciliation
- Perform daily reconciliation of payroll tax trust accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements, payroll system, and accounting records.
- Maintain clear documentation for all reconciliation processes.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to payroll accounts.
Tax Agency Registration & Account Managemen t
Register new entities with applicable state, and local tax agencies.Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax account credentials and login access.Track registration deadlines and ensure all jurisdictions are properly covered.Communicate with government agencies to resolve issues and maintain account standing.Prepare and submit Power of Attorney or other authorization forms as neededWork Schedule

Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of payroll tax or accounting experienceExperience in multi-state payroll highly desirable.Familiarity with payroll systems and financial software.Skills
Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities.Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.Preferred Qualifications
Experience registering businesses with state / local tax agencies across multiple states.Knowledge of employment tax agency portals and bulk filing systems.
